MORE EGGS ARE REQUIRED

Delve deeper and build the ever-expanding egg harvesting machine.

A mysterious first person factory building game.

Please note that is a prototype and is very much not finished! If it's popular enough we might finish it and make a commercial version.

Egg Harvester was originally made for the 2024 7DFPS jam. Since then it's been updated to include a bunch of new content, new mechanics, and the much anticipated ability to save your game!

Thank you for playing!

Found out about this from GrayStillPlays. It was kinda fun, it scratched that need to optimize player gameplay in a game, which I loved. However unfortunately there was an really easy way to cheese to win the max EPS, but I personally love finding non-bug ways to make a game easier :)

As someone who always owned potatos for computers, I loved how smooth this operated(granted, after I got the necessary EPS it started to lag a bit, but considering all the physics based objects flying around, and considering my potato, it's a wonder it took this long! So good job on optimizing yourself!)

However since I want to be honest, if it hadn't been free I wouldn't have played it.

If you want some constructive criticism: The way the objects are being placed by the player shouldn't be depended on the cameras view angle and instead be always in the same angle as the previous object was placed. It was kinda annoying always having to readjust because the player camera was looking slightly up or down.

Oh, and many of the objects are kinda made invalid by the very first plate objects.

it was so fun i had to go back in for a second dip. beat it this time. looks like there's a secret ending? i'm too stupid to figure out how to get it though. the only bug/gameplay complaint i had was the jetpack was underwhelming (needs to be longer duration to fly around, 1.5 seconds isn't enough it's like a double jump basically) and the cannon holes were not large enough for the eggs. no matter what setup i had feeding the eggs into the cannons, they would get stuck if they hit the entrance hole the "tall" way. if they roll in right, it's fine, but if it doesn't line up it's getting stuck right away.

if you make this a full game, i'll buy it for sure! i had a lot of fun with this and hope to see more stuff like this in general. thanks for making this weird cloaca tickler egg clicker automation simulator game for me to geek out on.

this is a really an amazing game I've had some FPS issue and find out that there was a lot of eggs that gather in a place and made the game so lag a lot, I think you should add a button to clear all eggs in the pause menu

Hey mate! Had a ton of fun playing your game, actually made an account on here just to comment because I ran into a bug that stopped me being able to finish it, the egg beater just stopped working while I was messing around in the water section, once my game filled up with too many eggs that I couldn't effectively get rid of I just had to give up even though I really wanted to persist on.

Looking forward to what you make in the future!

Absolutely amazing game. If it was paid access i would 100% pay it.

i dont make too many itchio comments anymore, but this game was so good i had to say thanks for making it. it's crazy to me such a simple stupid idea can turn into such a fun automation game. please keep making games so i can play. <3

Yo dog.  Love it.  I just wish it was bigger and longer :) what would be SUPER awesome is being able to rotate left and right instead of just Up and down. put the Rotations on  IKJL or something

curious at the final area the bag says there is another way and noticed and similar red area in the water area so wondering if there is another ending i dont know of

Linux build appears to mostly function. I had fun with this, it's a good fun game so far. Though main issues i've seen are:

Saving appearing to not work, which is definitely not ideal and probably the biggest issue.

Mouse sensitivity (which isn't linux specific), I have DPI settings on my mouse so I can get around it, but moving between the game, the Computer and my own actual desktop are jarring with how varied the mouse speeds are.

Whatever these are only appear as pink squares to me. I'm not sure on their purpose but they don't seem to affect gameplay outside of being visually intrusive.

(+1)

how to increase mouse speed? its unplayable for me otherwise, too lazy to change dpi

Hello !
I'm the dev of Project P.I.T.T. an accidentally really close game idea as yours, and as people kept mentioning your game, here I am !
I don't know if you plan to make a commercial release of it, but maybe we could talk a bit and see if we can make easter eggs or something like that ?

Still undecided on a commercial version. If so I'm always happy to chat!

The games keeps playing on a monitor that isn't the main. :'(

while playing on a that display, notice right away sensitivity is really low on mouse.

ALT + Enter and then drag it onto the other screen, just ALT + Enter again for fullscreen

GIVE ME ATTENTION

Man, best game I've tried on itch.io. Cannot wait for full Steam release!

The physics seemed pretty solid, and it's neat having to deal with the challenges of egg-shaped objects rather than just balls. Though I swear one of my chutes worked fine before saving and exiting, then I came back and it clogged occasionally.

I played with the fans in the water for a little bit before just removing it all and using conveyor belts.

After beating it, I'm still not sure if the cannon has a real use outside of amusement.

I also like that you can choose your own route to achieve your goal. For example, to unlock the last door, I didn't really feel like making runs from some of the more-distant egg poopers. So, I made a big platform next to the grinder with a gate, used a ton of fans to put a bunch of air pressure toward the gate, filled it with eggs, and opened the gate when it was full. Shot me well over 300/min.

Obviously my biggest complaint is that I have an ultrawide monitor so I wasn't able to see whatever was on the disks due to the in-game monitor glitch.

Could probably use optimization, fans ramp up like hell while playing.

Eggcellent work so far!

on mac os it dusint work idk why

The PC you find underground does not work with ultrawide monitors, the cd button at the top right is cut off.

Otherwise really good and fun game, super unique and cool

Great game, congrats! I do have to agree with one of the other comments and say the beginning could use an instruction on how to start. I almost had to look up a walkthrough after 8 minutes, until finally i got lucky and clicked on a pink thing on accident. Other than that, keep up the good work

I loved this game. Great idea, interesting story, awesome aesthetics. The controls felt solid, the upgrades felt rewarding. I think I did 99% of the content, I just couldn't unlock the final door because my runs kept breaking due to physics issues maybe. A few thoughts if that's cool:

  • Wasn't too clear I needed to click on the wall things, maybe a tool tip or light tutorial would have been useful.
  • A sign tool for marking my world could be helpful "nothing here" "story area this way" etc.
  • Another set of controls for rotating stuff on the other axis would have helped. Maybe the mouse scroll wheel for distance from player as well.
  • The economy gets too strong near the middle-to-end. I think the time it takes to build new runs takes too long that by the time I'm done, I don't even need the money for that run. By the middle of my play-through I had more money than I could keep up with.
  • Conveyor belts feel a bit broken. I think the pushing walls need to be taller. Also, having to put walls around them was a bit tedious . They were the most common spot for things to break.
  • Conveyor belts also seem to affect performance? I noticed my computer's fans kicked on once I started adding those.
  • The physics feels a bit too random. Maybe less randomization on egg spawn. My runs that were working just fine would randomly get congested.
  • The physics seem to break when you're far away. I had a hard time exploring and slowly building out new runs because when I'd go back to the main area, all my runs would be clogged. I wish I could have just paused the game while I build.
  • I think there should be like a $1000 egg bomb tool that destroys all eggs. Or eggs should expire. Near the end, I just always had piles and piles of eggs to deal with.
  • I think a funnel or some sort of tool for connecting runs better could have been useful.
  • Lastly, of course a windowed mode and letting the game run when not in focus.

I'm sure you're aware of all this and I know this is a prototype :) but maybe it's helpful. Looking forward to seeing this get expanded on! Overall I really loved it. I would have paid like $5 at least for this early access experience alone. It's great!

Thanks for playing and taking the time to write all this feedback! It's super nice to know people are enjoying the game.

When you say "breaking due to physics" issues, are you just referring to the machines clogging while you're not looking? Or were their other bugs?

(1 edit)

Oh just that! Sorry that wasn’t too clear honestly. It felt consistent that anytime I was away from the main area for just 5 minutes I’d come back and all my machines were all clogged. But if I cleared it up and watched it, they ran smoothly. But sometimes either randomness or something I’m not clear on, made like an egg get stuck and just halt the whole thing. I couldn’t get a consistent stream going to get the final 300 eggs per minute(?).

interesting concept, but sadly lack of windowed mode, keybinding, and invert y make it basically unplayable for me.

i’ll be keeping an eye for updates, though

(1 edit) (+1)

I NEED  a full version. easily a day 1 purchase. it already felt like a full game i can only imagine what you'll do for the full version (i have never posted a comment for a game b4, but i had to do it for this)

how do i play this , whenever i download it doesnt open

:(

lots of nocliping bugs, not optimised, fans cause latency when spam clicked in one spot, eggs get immortal to egg crushing tool after some saves.

EDIT:

the eggs get immortal to egg crushing tool after continuing when relaunching the game.

EDIT 2:

the eggs cause lag when left alone.

Please make this playable on chrome os.

I saw this game on YouTube and it looked so fun!!! but it does not support chrome os.

I mean, who doesn't love big crunchy pixels?

Mouthwash vibes with satisfactory gameplay. The physics just work, and it is really hard to achieve specially in a 3D sandbox-y while (almost) nothing goes flying.

The sound design is pretty well done, the eggs breaking is satisfying. I just wish there was some more music here and there.

I love the flow, it makes all sense that mid to end-game to have less things to find out and unlock. I even managed to recover one disk I didn't see earlier because I had time to backtrack and revisit holes.

Some things that happened to me that could happen to more people and should be taken into consideration: One of the initial egg dispensers doesn't handle 7 stimulators well, so it just launches the egg forward; I don't know if only having 1 rotation dimension instead of 3 for building was the intention all along, but it got really frustating when I was trying so hard to pave a way for the eggs and couldn't put metal sheets because they were too far to put as walls, or it was a small cramped space and couldn't make the angle right.

There are things that I missed in the game, like a way of knowing how many stimulators there are automatic and manual, but for a 0.2 version, it is really well done and well cared.

Can't believe it's just a prototype. God, I made an Itchio account just to comment this.

I hope to seeing more from this game and this creator soon.

Thanks so much for the kind comment! Really glad you enjoyed it.

(+1)

My grinder size is maxed out at level 1. Am I missing something? If not, are there plans to allow upgrades?

(+2)

You're not missing anything. Unfortunately you can't make the grinder bigger yet.

Just made a video playing this masterpiece of a game (My vid doesn't do it justice tho)

Thanks so much for playing and making a cool video!

Im really mad about how much I like this game. Like I really love the engineering and like building aspect. I do NOT like the dangly things with blue lights in the caves, but everything else is cool. sometimes, the egg phsics are annoying, they break right at the end of a long chute or something but whatever. I normally dont like progression games, but the building aspect really makes it fun. It makes me motion sick really easily though, and the lonely scary vibe gets like suffocating after a while, like i wish i could just not be in a freaky dark cave, BUT I really do like it overall!

Thanks for playing! Really glad you like it!

(1 edit)

Very satisfying, love games where you battle with physics.
I think I finished it, that sign says so, but the body bag makes me feel like there's currently something more, if there is I couldn't figure it out :(

amazing

i just completed the game that was amazing🤩

(+1)

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

this game is very amazing👍

Game's really solid and hope you bring the game over to steam as well. Keep it up.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont

Thanks for the neat video and kind words!

it's really solid game brother, all i can advice, u need better onboarding. What i mean is when u start the game, u gotta the lead players better. Except that one,its really good game.

Loved this game, super cool idea!
Are you playing on doing a full version?

(1 edit)

Was an interesting game and quiet enjoyed the building mechanic but wish there was away to turn the parts

Also as an Egg i disapprove of this game

Thanks for playing! In my headcannon you only play games about eggs.

this is amazingly solid. great work

is there a way to deconstruct?

Thanks! You can use the hand to remove things you've placed.

i hope it will have the full version released on steam

y no more web version

Sadly the web-player is sandboxed, so save  game system doesn't work. I decided to remove it because the game is quite brutal without saves.

im fine whit no saves, after all, the game never gets boring (for me atleast).

i would want it back because its impossible to open the macOS app...

"The application “Egg Harvester 2” can’t be opened."
- MacOS

No clue why this game has not gone Viral yet.

Honestly I normally don't play games like this but I'm so glad I gave this a chance. everything worked well and was easy to get going.

Feel free to check out my Playthrough below.

going to play this on stream Monday the 13th on TikTok so feel free to check that out too.
